3rd Annual “It’s Cool to Learn” September Literacy Month Campaign Heads to St. Augustine
There’s a certain magic in seeing a child hold a brand-new book for the very first time.
They run their fingers over the cover, open to that first page, and step quietly into a world that now belongs to them. For some, it’s the first time they’ve ever had that moment — and it changes everything.
That’s what the “It’s Cool to Learn” campaign is all about.
A Journey That’s Just Getting Started
Two years ago, we began with a simple idea: if we could get Amara’s Adventures into the hands of children who might not otherwise have books at home, we could plant seeds of curiosity that would grow for a lifetime.
In Jacksonville, we watched kids light up as they discovered a character who looked like them, thought like them, and loved learning as much as they did.
In Ocala, we saw whole families gather around Amara’s story, turning what could have been “just another Saturday” into a celebration of imagination, history, and hope.
This year, we’re bringing that same energy to St. Augustine, Florida — and we need your help to do it.
What Each Child Will Receive
Every child in this year’s campaign will take home a bundle designed to inspire:
A copy of Amara’s Adventures
A bookmark to remind them that their story matters
A coloring sheet and crayons to let their creativity take flight
A sticker to make it theirs
A beaded bracelet they create with their own hands — a keepsake of this moment in time
These aren’t just items in a bag. They are invitations — to imagine, to explore, to believe they can be part of something bigger.
Why Your Support Matters
We know the statistics: children who grow up with books at home are more likely to succeed academically, develop stronger vocabularies, and see reading as a lifelong habit.
But numbers can’t capture what happens when a child sees themselves in a story for the first time.
They can’t measure the quiet confidence that comes from knowing I belong here, too.
Your donation doesn’t just hand over a book — it hands over possibility.
The Ripple Effect of One Gift
One book can be read aloud at bedtime, shared with siblings, passed to a friend. One bracelet can be worn every day as a reminder: someone believed in me.
And one act of giving can start a chain reaction of curiosity, courage, and hope.
That’s the ripple effect you create when you support the “It’s Cool to Learn” campaign.

A Mission That Extends Beyond Reading
Every purchase of Amara’s Adventures also supports Greenscape of Jacksonville, funding tree planting and urban beautification. Together, we’re nurturing young minds and the world they’ll inherit.
We’ve seen the smiles, heard the laughter, and felt the shift in a room when a child opens a book they can call their own.
Now it’s St. Augustine’s turn. Let’s make sure every child we meet walks away not just with a story in their hands, but with the belief that their own story matters.
Be part of this year’s chapter.
